About Marquee New York

For ten years Marquee was “the” club in NYC.  Renowned as NYC’s best bottle service/VIP nightclub, Marquee has been redesigned with a focus on EDM and dancing.  The ceilings were raised (to 30 ft.), the mezzanine was opened up reincorporating it into the main room (no more VIP), the dark woods, and plush décor were replaced, and in their place, a neon-lit, trendy, almost industrial, modern-chic dance club was born.

The main room is built around a several-hundred person capacity, hardwood dance floor.  The DJ booth sits on a stage at the back of the house, pumping music through a Funktion One sound system, which in six months, has seen Tiesto, David Guetta, Martin Solveig, EC Twins, BT, Sander Van Doorn, Laidback Luke, and Gareth Emery, among others, all grace the decks.  The main bar is situated up front beneath the mezzanine, which features elegantly appointed seating, and its own bar.  A catwalk circles around the back half of the club, with space for performers, dancers, fire breathers, acrobats and other entertainment.

The décor is neon- and laser-lit industrial fantasy, with LED panels starting at the floor, stretching across the ceiling.  Leather, polished metal, and retro accents give the place a unique feel, a combination of the glitz of Vegas and the grit & polish of NYC.  Chandeliers built from working microphones, leather belts recycled as wall covering, and 2,000 books arranged to look like an equalizer behind the mezzanine bar, create a pretty amazing atmosphere.

The new Marquee is also easier to get in (you can buy tickets instead of bribing the doorman), but make no mistake, despite its change in focus from VIP hot spot, to dance music heavyweight, Marquee hasn’t toned down the glitz and glam.  It’s still the place to see and be seen, a place where style, looks, and buzz drench the crowd.  It’s a little younger, and a bit looser than the old Marquee, but no less full of eye candy and the dress to impress types, and it’s still a favorite of celebrities.
